Cache Valley Jr Aggies 2022-2023 VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION
When it comes to fostering a youth athlete’s love for hockey, there may be no one more influential than their coach.
Coaches have an opportunity to impact how players feel about the game of hockey every time they step on the ice. Whether it is helping players develop their skills, using situations to teach life lessons, or simply sharing their own love of the game, coaches should strive to create a fun, positive atmosphere that will leave a lasting impression on today’s youth hockey players.
With youth hockey coaches having such an important responsibility, USA Hockey and Utah Hockey believe it is critical to focus on developing coaches just like they develop their players. That’s why we work together every year to provide the most comprehensive coach training and resources in youth sports.
All coaches must have the required certification level by December 15th of the current season.
Each of the following steps must be completed before stepping on the ice.
- REGISTER WITH USA HOCKEY
- COMPLETE BACKGROUND SCREENING
- All adult coaches, officials, board members, employees, volunteers, and anyone else who will have regular contact with, or authority over, athletes under the age of 18 are required to submit to a background screen before any such contact with those athletes. All new screens submitted through the new NCSI national screening program after April 1st, 2020, will be valid for two seasons.
The eight digit self registration ID number for USAH to initiate your screen is 35615801.
The cost is $30 for all domestic screenings.
- COMPLETE SAFESPORT MODULE
- The SafeSport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for one (1) season beginning on 4/1/20.
As of January 1st, 2018, all relevant individuals who need to be SafeSport certified or are seeking recertification will need to complete the new SafeSport training, which features updated content.
Once you have completed the Core SafeSport course, there will be a refresher course available for individuals who have previously completed the Core SafeSport course and need to recertify. Users completing the SafeSport Refresher course will be certified for one (1) additional season.
PLEASE NOTE that you will need your own USA Hockey Confirmation Number and your own email address to access the training.
There is no cost for the SafeSport Core or Refresher courses.
