2024-2025 Team Info

2024-2025 Season Jr Aggies Teams

The Utah Amateur Hockey Association (UAHA) changed its classification of youth hockey teams for the 2024-25 season

  • House. Recreational leagues for beginning players and those not interested in the higher costs and time requirements of travel teams. These teams play mostly within an organization (in-house). As the season progresses, these teams may play against house teams from other organizations but only one game per month and with the organization closest in distance.

  • Travel B. Designed for players and parents that are interested in playing at a high level of play and are looking for a heavy emphasis on development. Participate in an in-state league and  travel to play other teams in Utah. Play in tournaments in Utah and in up to three out-of-state tournaments. Travel and tournament schedule similar to D2 teams in past years.

  • Travel A. Designed for players and parents that are seeking a program with a high level of commitment and highly skilled players. Participate in an in-state league and  travel to play other teams in Utah. Play in tournaments in Utah and three or more tournaments out of state. Travel and tournament schedule similar to D1 teams in past years.

  • Tier. Tier II (AA) and Tier I (AAA) are highly competitive and play in-state and out-of-state tournaments.

UAHA also established tryout periods for Travel teams

  • Travel 12U and under in May

  • Travel 14U and up in June

CVAHA will have the following teams in 2024-2025. The Travel B and A teams are very similar and will have similar schedules and fees to our D2 and D1 teams in past years.

  • House

    • 6U (2018 and 2019 birth years) and 8U (2016 and 2017)

      • Registration for these teams will open in August. New players should have completed Eccles Ice Center’s Learn to Skate Hockey level 1 (6U) or 3 (8U). Tryouts for an 8U tournament team will occur in the first weeks of the season.

    • There will not be house teams for 10U and up in the 2024-25 season. Beginning hockey players are encouraged to participate in Eccles Ice Center’s Learn to Skate program. Players who complete Hockey Level 3 may try out for CVAHA Travel teams. CVAHA hopes to have enough ice and players for older House teams in the future.

  • Travel B

    • 10U (2014 and 2015), 12U (2012 and 2013), 14U (2010 and 2011)

  • Travel A

    • 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U (2008 and 2009), 18U (2006 and 2007)

CVAHA Travel B and A Team tryouts will be held in May and June as required by CVAHA. CVAHA may evaluate players until rosters are filled or closed, but rosters for both Travel B and A are limited. Players are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions.

Each case will be assessed individually and we will use all information at our disposal to make a reasonable placement decision based on the facts of each situation.
